Summertime, Summertime, Sum Sum Summertime!

You can't tell by the weather but it is time for summer break.  It's not often that the kids have to wear coats to school during the last week, but they got that chance this year.  The end of year reward swimming party was rather chilly.  I hope one of these days Mr. Sun will decide to stick around and give us a little summertime.
Thursday was the last day of school so we decided to celebrate by going up Payson canyon for a little BBQ and fishing.  We ended up at Maple lake (which is gorgeous!), cooked up some hot dogs, and lazied around the lake.  The kids found a small stream filled with snail shells.  The weather was actually beautiful and we had a really good time.

Here's another of the kids favorite pastimes - neighborhood dirt hills.  They will be so disappointed when all of the construction is finished and there are no more mounds of dirt to climb on.
I am trying to plan a "fun filled" summer this year.  The more the boys are together, the more they tend to tease and fight.  Thus summers can be tough.  I am trying to come up with plenty of activities to keep them busy, plus adding in reading time and summer review workbooks.  We will see how it goes.  This week is "Huck Finn Week", stay tuned to hear how it goes.

Sounds like you are having a ball. So far my kids have enjoyed mom sleeping the day away trying to get better. I have images of pippy longstocking running threw my brain at the fun they are having,. We should try to get together for lunch one day.
