Hiking Lightening Ridge

I've mentioned many times before that in June we spend alot of time up Provo Canyon at Camp Big Springs.  There is a trail that starts there called Lightening Ridge.  Every week at camp the 5th graders spend one day hiking this trail.  It is 3.5 miles each way and climbs about 3,000 ft, its a pretty steep climb.   Benjamin took the Young Men and Women up to hike it one Saturday a couple of weeks ago.  We decided to take the entire family.  The boys were amazing and they all made it to the very top where we all sat for a minute to enjoy a snack.  I don't think Jaxon complained a word the entire time.  He kept up with everyone and was even jumping rocks on the way down.  When we were ready to descend we slid down on the glaciers, which was slightly terrifying but fun.  I was so proud of my boys for accomplishing such a huge feat.
Here we are at the very top.  There's Provo in the background.

See the tiny person coming down?
Here's Jaxon on the way home - we'd been in the car about 3 minutes.
