Last weekend we enjoyed our first camping trip of the weekend. We went to Camp Big Springs with the Palmer family. We roasted hot dogs and mallows and then bundled up under piles of blankets to stay warm for the night. The camp has a big zip line and Jaxon went down it for the first time. He LOVED it! It wanted to go over and over. The next day we scored some firewood by cutting up a bunch of dead trees that were laying around. We are stocked up for a good summer of fires in our firepit. It was a good way to start off our summer.
Saturday we had tickets to attend the Great American Wild West Show at the Spanish Fork fairgrounds. Before the show we wandered around to see the pre-show events. They had pig racing (hilarious!), an indian village, performers, and various vendors. We chose to eat Indian Frybread for dinner. The kids stuck with honey butter while Benjamin and I went for the full Navajo Taco. They were yummy and huge and the kids all actually ate the whole thing) Then we headed for our seats to enjoy the show. It was pretty fun and they had some amazing trick riders and stunts. I didn't take many pictures but here's a few I did get.
Sunday morning we got up early and headed for Salt Lake for a baby blessing. It was for my nephew's and his wife's sweet little baby boy. He was born 6 weeks early and spent some time in the NICU so it was nice to see him big and healthy, weighing almost 9 pounds. Afterward we got to enjoy a yummy brunch at their cute little house. Congrats to them! This is Jack, isn't he a cutie!
This week so far I weeded the entire playground area (forgot the sunscreen, ouch!) and we planted more trees in our yard - yea! It is coming together even if it is slowly. We also had a friend give us 37 strawberry plants and we are excited to grow a huge patch of yummy, fresh strawberries.
I am looking forward to the father and sons campout this weekend. It's my one kid free night of the entire year. There is already a girls night planned among neighbors. Hurry for a kid free night!
