A double celebration

We celebrated Benjamin's birthday yesterday, We had a nice, quiet, family celebration. We enjoyed a yummy dinner at Magelby's Fresh and a casual stroll around the block. We got him a new fly fishing rod and reel (his got broken several years ago and he has been able to fly fish since) and a new set of camo. The boys all made presesnts for him all by themselves, they came up with the ideas and everything. Ethan made him a new fish stringer, Nathaniel made him some flies for his new pole, and Caleb gave him some of his special treasures. It was so cute how they all worked on their own to give Benjamin a special gift. After presents we enjoyed a homemade German Chocolate Cake with a double batch of coconut, pecan frosting.
His birthday turned out to be extra special because he received an important piece of mail. If you've been reading our blog you might remember that Benjamin took a test about a month ago that would give him a dual certification. Yesterday he received his certificate saying he had passed the test. He was so relieved and happy. It made the day that much more special. So now he is Benjamin Palmer RPA, RA, RRA, RT. So I guess now he really has 4 different certifications, although 3 of them are really the same thing butt different organizations recoginze different titles so you have to be certified in all of them. Anyway, I am very proud of him for passing. What a great day of celebrations!
